To say that the fall '12 haute couture presentation of the Maison Martin Margiela collection featured statement jewelry would be a gross understatement. In the mix of super-streamlined suits and bold pattered jackets over barely there lace pants, Margiela's most obvious attention grabbers were as plain as the nose of your face. Or, rather, the bejeweled masks on the the models' faces.
While drama, avant garde beauty, or even face masks are never in short supply at haute couture presentations, this most recent spot of razzle dazzle is certainly a cut above the rest. Without having been present for the Margiela presentation ourselves, we suspect that these crystals shined brighter and bolder in person — and, for the faceless models, made for one trippy (although, we're happy to report no incidents of actual tripping occurred), sparkling glide down the catwalk.
