Furry Or Fugly: Céline Does Fur-Covered Heels In Its Latest Collection

main
This season has been chock-full of edgy shoe designs. We’ve already identified the no-socks-with-sandals trend in the Prada and Marc by Marc Jacobs collections. But now, an even more bizarre shoe trend may be in our midst: fur-covered heels. Céline's spring 2013 collection included a number of outlandish shoes, including ingenious, flesh-toned heels with built-in toenails painted red, leather sandals with mink lining (or, “furkenstocks”), and, most outrageously, mink-covered heels.
We’re seriously wondering whether this trend will catch on. While the fashion set might be on the fence, we have a feeling that PETA would not be happy with Phoebe Philo’s mink-covered stilettos. How do you feel about fur on your heels? Will you be rocking the fuzzy heel trend come spring? Or, is this look too avant-garde for your taste?
