Even more so than seeing how Adele will circumvent the censors, what Zoe Saldana chose to wear, and Eddie Redmayne's mug (hubba hubba), we most look forward to seeing moms on the red carpet. When you're single and nominated, bringing your mom to the Oscars is a PR move that award-show freaks like us get all misty over.
So, how sweet was Bradley Cooper (nominated for best actor for Silver Linings Playbook) and his mother, Gloria Cooper? Not only did the star invite the woman who gave him birth to the glitzy affair, but he also moved in Mom to his home after his father passed away in 2011. Though all eyes were on Bradley, Gloria took the opportunity to prove that she's not the only Cooper with something to show off.
Appearing on the red carpet in a dress and feather stole she apparently just dug out of her closet, the diminutive Mrs. Cooper chose to wear metallic sneakers instead of heels. And amongst a sea of nude mermaid hems and peep-toe Louboutins, we were glad to see a flash of personality, especially coming from a mama. Work it, Gloria!
