Rapper, fashion icon, runway model, grill-popularizer, and now gay rights activist — A$AP Rocky's having one helluva moment. Which is why we're digging his cover story for
Interview, where he chats with Alexander Wang about his high highs (a number one album) and low lows (losing his dad over Christmas). As for combatting the lows, well, after seeing Hood By Air's buzzed-about Milk Studios show this past NYFW, Rocky tells Wang that "[Fashion] was just one of those things that helped me be an individual, because with fashion, you can stand out and you can make it your own."
Most heartwarming though, is his stance on gay rights: "It makes me upset that this topic even matters when it comes to hip-hop,
because it makes it seem like everybody in hip-hop is small-minded or stupid and that¹s not the case...It's 2013. Time goes on... I treat everyone equal." Though Rocky may treat everyone equal, now that he's one of America's favorite cover-boys, we're expecting he'll be getting (well-deserved) partial treatment for years to come.
