The other day, we took a tiny bit of an issue with Forbes' list of the top 100 websites for women (more on that here). And, while the publication has every right to make choices about what constitutes awesome lady writing, we just didn't dig a lot of their picks. Which is why we decided — after more than a little push from you, dear readers — to go ahead and make our own list. For the record, we're intentionally not including any of the sites on that original 100, since this list is envisioned as a counterpoint. But, that doesn't mean we don't have lots and lots of love for XOJane, Jezebel, HelloGiggles, Motherlode, and many others that did make the cut over at Forbes.
Of the ones we've chosen, some are new, some have reached classic status. Topics of choice run the gamut from fashion, beauty, and fitness to gender politics, entertainment, and tech. Whether written exclusively for women or just run by some very awesome ladies, all of them are worth bookmarking for the inevitable post-lunch browsing session. Just don't blame us if you get addicted, and we won't blame you for spending a small portion of your daily R29 time elsewhere on the web. Deal?
