Attention, Friends fans! This past weekend marked the 19th anniversary of the legendary show. Hard to believe that the show has been out for almost two decades, which means that we've been coveting Monica and Rachel's apartment for nearly 20 years. Though, it's no secret that their West Village abode was a bit out of touch with reality. In fact, we're going to go ahead and say that it was totally implausible for a chef and a waitress to own a sprawling pad (with a balcony!) in that neighborhood.
But, that doesn't change our love for the show, or the extreme amount of jealousy we feel every time we watch the gang hang out in that purple-walled living room. Even though most of us will never get to experience an apartment like this for ourselves, we can recreate the shabby chic decor in our own abodes. Thanks to Elizabeth Street's resident interior design expert, we're learning how to take a page out of Monica and Rachel's (flea chic) book — think French portraits, picture frames, and funky lamps.
