Look Again: This Isn’t A Black-&-White Photo

We have to tell you this up front: When we first saw this film noir-esque Halloween makeup on Beautylish, we thought that the photo was black and white. Spoiler alert: It's not, nor is there any sort of filter on it. (If you look closely, you can see the pink parts of her eyes.) No, friends, this is actually some masterfully applied black-and-white makeup that rivals the part in Pleasantville when Tobey Maguire puts gray makeup on Joan Allen.
There's no tutorial accompanying this image, just the products she used, but our imaginations are running wild about the skill that must have gone into recreating her face contours with shades of gray. Also, that black lipstick is extra fabulous with or without the gray-scale face to match it.

We're really digging the idea of doing makeup as it would look in a photograph from a certain time period, and it's giving us all sorts of inspiration. We'd love to see makeup done in a sepia tone, too. (Beautylish)
