While British Vogue reports today that Ashley Olsen actually updated her résumé last month, the news of her latest appointment came to light just this morning. The actress-turned-major-fashion-player has landed a spot on the board of the CFDA. As one half of the design team behind The Row and Elizabeth and James, the 27-year-old joins the panel of prestigious fashion visionaries a little over a year after she and her twin, Mary-Kate, won the Womenswear Designer of the Year award.
As CFDA board members are welcomed on an invite-only basis, Ashley's new role is a major honor. Other newly added members include Prabal Gurung and Deborah Lloyd of Kate Spade. However, while Ashley will sit by their side, it's reported that Mary-Kate does not have a seat among them. Actually, as far as we can remember, this may be the first time the two sisters have not held the same title. Regardless, it's quite exciting that Ashley's reaching this well-deserved career milestone. Kudos! (Vogue U.K.)
