One look at Lyndsey Scott's résumé will have you concluding that she's made it big as far as the modeling industry goes. Her CV is brimming with appearances on some of the industry's most esteemed runways, including Gucci, Prada, Calvin Klein, and, yes, the pinkest of all, Victoria's Secret. She's also booked campaigns with MAC and DKNY, as well as a plethora of other glossy spreads. But, the five-foot-nine American beauty has another trick up her sleeve, and it doesn't have a thing to do with posing.
When Scott isn't killing it on the runway, she's a certified computer programmer.

After graduating from Amherst in 2006 with degrees in computer science and theater, the model taught herself Python, Objective C, and iOS, and she's been building apps on the side ever since. But, she wasn't spending time on just any projects. The first app she released to the public benefited a charity called Educate!, which sponsors Ugandan scholars. And, for her second, Scott created a method for models to keep a digital version of their portfolio on hand to take to castings. We can imagine that's a lot of coding to do in between Fashion Weeks and go-sees.
In an industry where youth and physical appearance are so highly valued and celebrated, it's wonderful and refreshing to see Scott stand as a symbol of beauty, heart, and serious brain power in both the tech and fashion worlds.
