Lupita Nyong'o's shimmery Prada gown may be out of reach, but there is at least one Oscars dress you could potentially bag on your next trip to the mall. It's the stunning flamenco-style H&M number Penélope Cruz wore to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party last night. That's right. We said H&M.
Though Cruz's ruffled, midnight-blue creation was customized for her especially, a similar version of the eco-friendly dress will be sold through the retailer's Conscious Exclusive collection beginning April 10. Consider our calendars marked!
"Penélope Cruz is an actress that we really admire," says Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s head of design, new development. "She has a feminine and glamorous style, and is always personal and irresistibly beautiful. I’m so thrilled that one of the most incredible actresses in the world chose to wear an H&M gown in more sustainable materials for this occasion, and hope that this will inspire our customers.”

It's not the first time an A-lister has worn H&M on the red carpet; Michelle Williams wore a Conscious Collection dress to the 2012 Baftas, and Amanda Seyfried memorably donned a metallic blue suit from the label to the premiere of In Time.
While Cruz wore a pale pink Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown to the Academy Awards ceremony, we think her H&M wardrobe change suits the Spanish beauty even better. Stylish, sustainable, and super-affordable? Love, love, love.
