We were already very aware that Bobbi Brown is a total beauty ninja who's become our life role model (yes, we're totally planning on having a "F*ck It decade," as well). And, just when we thought that we'd seen all her tricks, the star makeup artist and business mogul has announced yet another surprise move. Brown will be editor-in-chief of Yahoo Beauty as part of a new initiative to replace the soon-to-be-defunct Yahoo Shine.
Yahoo Beauty isn't live yet, so we have yet to see what, in fact, Brown will be editing. According to rumors, Marissa Meyers' plan is to ax Shine by the end of the second quarter this year and replace it with online lifestyle "magazines" that will be more modern and stylish. (Reportedly, Yahoo has also nabbed Paula Froelich of Page Six fame to head Yahoo Travel, and the company is in talks with Joe Zee to run the fashion vertical.)
In a statement via Yahoo, Brown expressed her excitement about this newest feather in her career cap. "In this new role, I get to combine my interest in education and empowerment by curating amazing visual content that will teach women how to be their best selves. Beauty is not just about makeup, it’s about lifestyle and confidence.” We're certainly looking forward to seeing how Brown brings her visionary abilities as a makeup artist into the editorial realm.
