It was the lint roll heard 'round the world.
While sitting courtside at yesterday's NBA playoff clash between the Brooklyn Nets and the Toronto Raptors, Drake was caught on camera vigorously assaulting his pants with a lint remover — the kind your parents used to attack you with before class photo day. The videos and GIFs of Drake going H.A.M. on his dungarees immediately went viral, and Twitter was divided about what to make of the rapper's unusual courtside antics. While some praised Drizzy for his sartorial hygiene, and his obvious ability to give no effs at all, others pounced on the rapper because...a lint roller at a basketball game? Really?

Welcome to the Drake paradox. People often chide the rapper because he doesn't always behave like most of counterparts. He can be cheesy, sincere, vulnerable, and sad. But, that's exactly why we love him too. He's different. He's Canadian. Some rappers bring models to basketball games, others bring lint rollers.
Drake is the global ambassador for the Raptors, and was the biggest star in Toronto's Air Canada Centre last night (other than Rob Ford, of course). When he busted out the now infamous lint roller, he was fully aware that someone would catch him in the act. In fact, after the game Drizzy posted a typically self-deprecating Instagram because unlike most rappers, Drake has an acute ability to laugh at himself, and wink at the Internet while doing it. If you were a global superstar flush with cash and spent halftime texting Rihanna, you'd laugh too.
Besides, this latest incident will be great fodder for his next song. Now, what rhymes with lint?
