Your love-hate relationship with fashionable sportswear is far from over. Actually, this is just the beginning — that is, if Net-A-Porter's got any say in the matter. Just this morning, the luxury retailer launched its Net-A-Sporter sub-site (any other name would have been a waste of a pun), giving an online-shopping platform to a whole new legion of athletic-wear designers like Weargrace, Bodyism, MONREAL London, and L'Etoile Sport. These accompany N-A-P regulars like Adidas by Stella McCartney, Splendid, and Nike. Additionally, swimwear favorites Zimmermann and Lisa Marie Fernandez created exclusive capsules for the behemoth e-shop’s new branch.
"At launch, N-A-S will play host to 37 brands across 11 sporting disciplines from tennis, golf, and running, to yoga, dance, swim, and surf," the Telegraph reports. Why the sudden urgency for an entire sister site dedicated to activewear, you ask? Put simply, there's nothing quite as fashionable as fitness these days — it's a recurring theme on and off the runway.
Further, Net-A-Porter president Alison Loehnis adds, "We know that a lot of women are exercising and heading straight from their yoga or ballet class to breakfast with friends without changing. With this in mind, we have developed a category called 'après sport' designed for those who want to look incredibly stylish after their workout." Well played, Net-A-Porter, well played. Ahead, get acquainted with the new names soon to be dominating the stylish-sportswear market.
