Makeup at couture shows, while gorgeous and aspirational, isn't typically the most accessible thing in the real world. So, when we saw this metallic liner look at Dior's couture show, the first aspect that stood out was how wearable it is: This is the kind of makeup that works just as well on the sidewalk as it does on the catwalk.
In true high-fashion form, the inspiration for this look is on the lofty, abstract side. Elle.com reports that Dior Makeup's creative and image director Peter Philips was inspired by dichotomies, from that of the "classicism and a visionary imagination" of the collection to the "strength and fragility" of the model. Hence, the juxtaposition of metallic eye makeup with fresh, minimally made-up skin. The end result is chic, modern, and, yes, something we absolutely want to copy.
As for how the makeup artists accomplished this feat? It's a combination of silver and white eyeliner just before the eyelid crease, with bare lashes to make the makeup pop more. Elle.com has the full product breakdown, so click on over to learn how to get the look. (Elle.com)
