This past spring, fitness-tracker brand Fitbit announced an upcoming partnership with designer Tory Burch. The duo teased us with sketches of its “super-chic” collection of stylish accessories for the Fitbit Flex, and we just waited, and waited. As of this morning, the collection is now available for pre-sale, and we're already feeling the flashy designs.
"The fusion of fashion and technology is important to the widespread adoption of wearable technologies," explains Melanie Chase, Fitbit's product marketing manager. "We believe users are looking for more ways to wear their tracker to match their everyday style, mood and activities."
While we didn’t mind the athletic look of the original wristbands, these designs add an undeniable chic-factor to wearing a fitness monitor. The accessories are intended for the Flex band, which features a removable tracker that can be easily integrated into the various pieces. While there aren’t any future designer collaborations planned at this time, we'd be excited to see Fitbit roll out more accessories with fitness-loving designers such as Norma Kamali and Cynthia Rowley. Burch has also announced that she’s planning an activewear line with yoga, running, golf, and tennis apparel for 2015.
Click through to for a look at the new designs, available for pre-sale today at Fitbit.com and ToryBurch.com. The pieces are a bit pricey, and you need to have the device to use the accessories — but if it inspires you to wear your tracker regularly, we’ll count that as step one (of your daily 10,000).
