Original Post Published 10/24 at 3:30 p.m.: One student is confirmed dead after a school shooting outside of Seattle on Friday morning, CNN reports.
A student opened fire around 10:45 a.m. at Marysville-Pilchuck High School in Marysville, WA.
"The Marysville-Pilchuck High School is currently in lock down due to an emergency situation," the school district announced in an official statement. "Police and emergency services have responded. The Marysville School District lock down procedures will remain in effect at Marysville-Pilchuck until further notice from law enforcement. We will continue to forward communication in cooperation with law enforcement."

Marysville Police Commander Robert Lamoureux told the press that the deceased student was the shooter. He believes the shooter was working alone, and that the threat has been contained. The campus remains in lockdown, and there are no further details on other injuries.
