Surprise! Kendall & Kylie Jenner’s Book Is A Major Flop

Kylie and Kendall Jenner should probably stick to their day jobs.
Three months ago, the entrepreneurial sisters released a YA dystopian fantasy novel called Rebels: City of Indra. It hasn't gone so well. The book was eviscerated by the few critics who decided it was worthy of a review, and its ghostwriter, Maya Sloan, has faced some backlash for the odd collaboration.
Now Radar has learned that the book's sales have been anemic as well. According to data obtained from Nielsen BookScan, the Jennner sisters' literary debut has sold just 13,000 copies since going on sale this summer.

Radar also points out that the novel barely cracks the top 10,000 on Amazon's sales chart, where it sits at 9,556. To put the dismal sales into perspective, the Jenners have a combined 28 million followers on Instagram. That's nearly the population of Canada. That means only 0.05% of their followers picked up a copy of their book.
So, why no love?
For one, readers who actually did give the book a chance were not kind. One reader wrote: "Honestly the writing style was something from a eight grade level point, tone was dry and boring. A WASTE OF TIME!" "This just seems like another money making scheme created by Kris Jenner. Don't waste your time or money," griped another.
Write what you know. It's one of the cardinal rules of writing — creative or otherwise. If their next book takes us into the seedy underworld of selfies, we're all in. (Radar Online)
