Some members of the fashion establishment
might be skeptical of the recent success of “Instagirls,” but
the current generation of social-media-savvy models has an unexpected fan in
their corner: Anna Wintour. And, as anyone in the Kardashian-West-Jenner clan
can attest, it's very good to have Wintour on your side.
The Vogue editrix
may have started out unsure about America’s first reality-royalty family, but thanks
to that epic Kimye cover shoot, Anna's now one of the pair's biggest
fans. Just a day after she thanked Kim and Kanye in her ASME acceptance
speech —Vogue picked
up the award for Best Magazine — we got word of another unexpected move for the
glossy. This time, it involves the other family favorite: Kendall Jenner.
Yahoo Style reports that
the magazine has enlisted Jenner (hot on the heels on her most recent Vogue appearance) along with models Gigi Hadid,
Bella Hadid, and The Fault In Our Stars actor Ansel Elgort, for
an upcoming photo shoot. The concept? Couture and selfie sticks, of course.
According to the website, Jenner & Co. ran around on the beach, played
dress-up in the newest collections, and goofed off with selfie sticks. The
weirdest part of the whole thing? Famed fashion photographer Mario
Testino was there to capture the entire experience.
This meshing of millennials and the old guard
might seem too out-there to be true, but crazier things have definitely happened.
There’s no word from Vogue yet on whether this shoot actually
went down, so stay tuned. We have a feeling the results will be coming to a
magazine — or an Instagram account — near you. (Yahoo)
