This Is What A $91.5-Million Apartment Looks Like

UPDATE: A unit below New York's most expensive apartment, ever, has just closed for a record $91,541,053 — making it the second priciest in the city's real estate history. Wonder what these insane homes look like? Ahead, see renderings of the space.

Forget the $80 million views at 432 Park Avenue. New York has officially sold its most expensive condo, EVER: a $100.5 million duplex in another massive "Billionaires' Row" luxury high-rise, at 157 West 57th Street. The penthouse occupies the building's 89th and 90th floors, for a grand total of 10,923 square feet, which, as Gizmodo points out, is 3.8 times the size of the average new American home.
The anonymous buyer — who we have to assume is one of the world's 1,600 billionaires — will get six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and custom everything for only $9,000 per square foot (an apparent steal compared to the $13,000 per square foot that Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev paid for his daughter's Central Park West college residence, which, at $88 million, was the previous record-holder for the most expensive real estate deal in the city). The building itself also has some crazy amenities, including a library, steam room, and a spa for pampered pets.
For that price, we can only hope there are masseuses on call 24/7 and a self-cleaning system. Regular turndown service wouldn't hurt, either. Click through to see what this Midtown manse looks like inside. (The Real Deal)
