The MTV Red Carpet Followed A “Do You” Dress Code

Award ceremony red carpets bring to mind a bit of formality and elegant, to-die-for gowns. But, you wouldn't have found any of that on the MTV Movie Awards red carpet. Instead, the attendees got a different kind of memo — one that said, essentially, "Do you."

After all, there wasn't much rhyme or reason to the looks we saw, and that's what we enjoyed most. Jessie J chose to host the pre-show in a pair of sparkly pajamas. Rebel Wilson proved she's sartorially fearless in a hot pink cape. Meanwhile, Bella Thorne and Cara Delevingne arrived ready to party in killer mini dresses. The evening didn't exactly seem to follow a specific dress code, but the badass and sometimes straight-up bizarre interpretations were what earned the highest marks. See them all, ahead.
