Who ya gonna call? Not Emma Stone.
The actress's name had surfaced during the Sony hacking scandal as a top contender for a lead role in Paul Feig's all-female Ghostbusters reboot. We now know that Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon have been cast instead. In a new interview with WSJ. Magazine, Stone reveals that she did indeed read the film's script, but ultimately passed on taking part.
"The script was really funny,” she told the magazine. “It just didn’t feel like the right time for me. A franchise is a big commitment — it’s a whole thing. I think maybe I need a minute before I dive back into that water.”
Fair enough. Given that the Aloha star is eager to take on a villain role one day, maybe she could at least cameo as a ghost? Those guys never last too long.
