Gingham-wrapped chocolate chip cookies, Iowa cherry pies, pun-tastic barbecue aprons — these are a few of Hillary Clinton's favorite things, according to her brand-new Pinterest account. We do not lie. The Democratic presidential frontrunner, who has posted more than 40 Instagrams and gained 161,000 followers since she joined the app in early June is now letting us in on "Summer Style" (among other Board topics).
Her tagline for her seasonally inspired picks: "Everything you need for fun in the sun, including outfits, crafts, and party ideas. Life’s better with no ceilings." Oh HRC, you wordsmith, you.
Many of the items Clinton has pinned are from her online store. The cookie recipe is her own, as published in Good Housekeeping. (The cookies take just 23 minutes to make and look absolutely delicious.) On a more sentimental board, "Memorable Moments," the self-proclaimed "doting grandmother" pinned her wedding photo alongisde a quote from her book Hard Choices.
To date, none of the other presidential candidates have Pinterest accounts (Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz are on Instagram). In February, GOP Sen. Rand Paul created a phony Pinterest account attributed to Hillary Clinton. Pinterest, most likely realizing the joke was stupid and sexist, shut it down.
