Jaclyn Hill, the Florida-based beauty YouTuber and makeup artist, has had one hell of a year. In May, the quirky video star hit two million subscribers, and just this month her limited-edition Becca highlighter, Champagne Pop, broke Sephora's record for most-purchased product on its first day of release. But Hill isn't slowing down just yet. Next up: At just 25 years old, she will fulfill one of her lifelong dreams with the launch of her own makeup line, Jaclyn Hill Cosmetics.
For the past two years, Hill has been building her eponymous line — which will debut with just lipsticks — from the ground up, with money she has been saving since she was 18. In order to stick to her own vision, she chose not get help from investors. "I didn't want people telling me what to do, or controlling me," Hill said during her Becca welcome reception in New York City last night. "I wanted to make sure that I stayed true to myself."
If you're familiar with Hill's videos, you won't be surprised to learn that her packaging will be very glamorous. "Silver, white, and blingy with rhinestones," is how she described it. The lipstick collection is scheduled to launch online next February, but if that seems like a long time to wait, she's got another collab coming out in October.
Hill worked with Makeup Geek to create a customized, limited-edition palette, with nine shadows, four of which were customized by the YouTuber herself. Of the four, expect to see two foiled eyeshadows (rose gold and bronze) and two matte shades (warm transition brown and chocolate brown).
If we know Hill like we feel like we do, there is sure to be a lot of glitz, glam, and full-on pigment in all that she touches. And we don't know about you, but we can't wait to try out her line.
