Amber Rose’s Outfit Throws Back Every Insult She’s Received

You can always count on the sartorial picks on parade at MTV’s Video Music Awards to shock and awe. (Let’s be real, it’s half the fun of tuning in.) Exhibit A: Amber Rose’s nude bodysuit, plastered with hand-painted words like “golddigger,” “bitch,” “stripper,” and “hoe.” Rose’s close pal and possible reality show collaborator, Blac Chyna, wore a matching gown emblazoned with the same terms. The duo was flanked by two male friends in fishnet-accented black separates scrawled all over with the word “faggot.” The getups are Rose and Chyna's way of taking ownership over all the negative takedowns they've been dealt: “We wanted to paint a picture of what everyone always says about us… They call us sluts and whores all the time, and we just embrace it,” Rose told VMAs red carpet host Kelly Osbourne. “I have slut written across my vagina.” Rose and Chyna are rumored to have an MTV show coming out later this year, and they’re also purportedly on the Kardashian-Jenner sh*t list. (The former strippers turned multi-hyphenate entertainment industry personalities have past relationships, and children, with rappers Kanye West and Tyga, respectively, hence the Kardashian clan drama.) Rose pretty much has that DGAF attitude down pat — her first book, out next month, is titled How to Be a Bad Bitch, after all. Literally wearing the same terms used to denigrate her is certainly one way to tell the haters how much their efforts are actually affecting you (that is to say, not at all).
