Hot on the heels of last year's #AskHerMore campaign, Amy Poehler's Smart Girls organization teamed up with The Television Academy and Twitter for another red-carpet campaign at this year's Emmy Awards. With #SmartGirlsAsk, users were encouraged to tweet compelling questions to their favorite celebrities using the hashtag. Questions came pouring in — some of them from the most unexpected places. Britney Spears asked, "Is there one book you’ve read as an adult that you wish you could share with your younger self?" Smart Girls posed the question to John Oliver. The campaign posted Oliver's response and other celebrities' #SmartGirlsAsk answers from the red carpet. They were a refreshing change from the typical "What are you wearing?" There's a place for that on the red carpet as well; we respect the craftmanship and artistry that goes into the dresses, accessories, and styling. However, it's important to ask actors and actresses about more than their superficial appearance. Here are just a few celebrity video responses from tonight's #SmartGirlsAsk hashtag. You can find more on Twitter. John Oliver
