Amy Schumer's book has a tentative title, as announced by The Hollywood Reporter, and it's exactly the sort of bawdy brilliance we've come to expect from the comedian: The Girl With The Lower Back Tattoo. Publisher Simon & Schuster has not responded to Refinery29's request for comment. Although, what we know for sure is that the book, a collection of funny essays, is going to be hilarious.
Earlier this week, the Trainwreck star landed a book deal with Simon & Schuster imprint Gallery Books worth a reported $8 million to $10 million, according to Entertainment Weekly. This followed an intense bidding war among publishers clamoring to sign the comedian. While the comedian's memoir is just one in a recent wave of titles by the likes of Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Mindy Kaling, and Lena Dunham, Schumer's advance beat them all.
If you feel like you're seeing Schumer everywhere these days, you're right. It's fair to say the public has fallen in love with the 34-year-old. On Sunday she nabbed the Emmy award for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series, Inside Amy Schumer, which she writes, stars in and directs. For the last few weeks, we've also heard reports about her blossoming friendship with Jennifer Lawrence. The two stars are writing and starring in a film in which they plan to play sisters. This summer, Schumer made her big screen debut in Trainwreck, and hit a home run with both critics and the box office. She also has a new comedy series in the works at Fox. Get it, girl.
