The Most Over-The-Top Burgers In The Country In Honor Of National Burger Day

Burgers are delicious things to be devoured. They're also edible art forms to be and admired (a.k.a. Instagrammed and drooled over). And as much as we enjoy a simple potato bun and pounded patty classic from a no-frills fast food joint, we love to look at (and eat) the snazzier stuff, too. We're talking burgers that have been stacked high between layers of decadent toppings and sandwiched between novelty buns. Those towers of melty-meaty-madness that span way beyond gourmet and into the elevated realms of something we'd pay top dollar to view in a museum (and then take a massive bite out of).

So in honor of National Burger Day on May 28, we scoped out nine of the most over-the-top burgers across the United States.
