These Little Genius Boots Arrive Just In Time For An Indian Summer

After touring the cozy-cool Sausalito studio of the tour-de-force shoe collection Freda Salvador, we’ve been tapping our toes in anticipation for its fall debut. Co-founders Megan Papay and Christina Palomo Nelson come from different backgrounds: Christina grew up in El Salvador, part of a shoe-making family while Megan cultivated her fashion career at Calvin Klein. But they meet in the middle at Freda Salvador, designing shoes that are at boho yet modern (think: New Mexico Hipster).
Starting the end of August you can shop the straight-from-El-Salvador collection arriving at Saks Fifth Avenue, ShopBop, Anthropologie, and a lucky few boutiques across the country. With styles as transformative as they are fashion forward — like the loafer that can become an oxford with the quick-flick removal of a snap-on attachment — Freda Salvador delivers shoes both versatile and beautiful. Anyone else feel like walking through the desert? Check out this lookbook, then you'll understand.
