Lip Crayons Are Basically BB Creams For Your Pout

You know all those things you love about your BB cream: the ease of application, the comfort that comes with knowing you still look like yourself — but just a little bit more put-together? Well, consider lip crayons the equivalent for your pout. They're easy, effortless, and almost impossible to mess up. Not buying it? Allure has posted an ode to the lip crayon, singing its praises when it comes to application, hydration, and color selection. "They deliver the perfect amount of color, they hydrate, and you can apply them in the back of a taxi — without a mirror," makeup artist Jillian Dempsey told the magazine.

Apparently, the world agrees, as Allure reports that women of all ages are letting go of lipstick in favor of the colorful crayons. Case in point: Clinique's chubby sticks make up 40% of the brand's sales in the lip category. "[W]omen of all ages are buying them in multiples, some who never used to wear bright color — or any color — on their lips," Lynne Greene, president of Clinique, told Allure.
