Unless you're a fit model or an animated mannequin, finding a pair of jeans that fits and flatters is one of the most frustrating things undertakings possible, shopping-wise. However, a new service called Bodymetrics now promises to cut down the time spent in agonizing in the dressing room, thanks to a body-scanning technology that's already been proven to have a 90% success rate when tested in a Selfridge shop.
60% of those who got their body scanned ended up buying a pair of jeans in-store. Unlike TSA body scanners, this machine doesn't seem to need any human operator to interpret the images, with a digitized system telling you immediate what your body shape is, and which pairs of jeans from brands like Seven For All Mankind, J Brand, Citizens of Humanity, and more, will be your fit best. Bodymetrics plans on being available in at least 100 different spots in the U.S. in the next two years. (WWD)
