"Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark"
finally officially opened last night to reviews that ranged from giddy boos to hesitant acceptance (we're particularly drawn to New York Times' critic Ben Brantley's notable quotable: "If I knew a less-than-precocious child of 10 or so, and had several-hundred dollars to throw away, I would consider taking him or her to the new and improved Spider-Man"). Nevertheless, opening night brought out a motley crew of stars like Julian Casablancas and Oprah who wisely chose to keep mum about the sort-of-embarassing fact they were there. That wasn't the strategy of Diane von Furstenberg. Lady F took to Twitter to proclaim, "Just saw Spider Man ! Quite a production ! Sets are magnificient especially in the first act! Love Diane."
