The Travel Channel Invites You To Nibble On Some Bizarre Bites

Pop-up stores are as ubiquitous as food trucks these days, but pop-up restos hosted by Andrew Zimmern of the Travel Channel's Bizarre Foods America are a whole other can of worms (the adventurous eater has probably choked down his fair share of those already!).
On January 13th, the James Beard Award-winning chef will serve an eccentric five-course meal at Culver City's Royal/T gallery to benefit the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. The menu includes Sea Urchin with Yellow Tomato-Vegetable Aspic, Grilled Broken Arrow Ranch Venison Chop, Crispy Goat Chuchules, Posole with Avocado Salsa, and Cioccolato Orrare de Gustare. Do a few of those plate descriptions seem a little unfathomable to you? Us, too. But we can't think of a finer way to educate a plebeian palette than to get schooled by the boss of bizarre, all while aiding those in need. This is serious cocktail party convo fodder, folks. Online reservations open to the public today here, and the event will be taped for Andrew's show. Bon appetit (and break a leg)!

Royal/T, 8910 Washington Boulevard (Near South Robertson Boulevard); 310-559.6300.
