For the last 16 years, there has been no exercise exam for the FBI. However, that is about to change, according to an FBI memo obtained by The New York Times. In October, James B. Comey, FBI Director, told agents that “The lives of your colleagues and those you protect may well depend upon your ability to run, fight, and shoot, no matter what job you hold.”

Women’s Health explains that “many agents are working longer hours and are under increased stress since the September 11 attacks, meaning they have less time and arguably more need for sweat sessions — hence the need for the test.”

The deadline to take the physical exam for all agents is October 2015, and the results will be a part of their performance reviews.
