Here’s the thing with Fashion Week. Every year, we come away inspired and reinvigorated. There are new designers we start stealthily keeping an eye on; “new” trends that have us reevaluating what we should really get rid of in our closets (our denim skirt isn't going anywhere); and, most of all for the beauty-obsessed, dramatic makeup trends that drop our jaws and flood our social feeds. But, while we lust after these looks from first sight, it’s hard to imagine wearing full-on gold glittery eyebrows to a casual brunch with the girl gang. (Oh, but we'll try, Dior. We will try.)
Needless to say, we don't back down from a challenge that easily. Determined to pull off every avant-garde makeup look we fell in love with, we tasked makeup artist Lisa Campos to make three favorites wearable for real life. They were created for designers Nanette Lepore, Bibhu Mohapatra, and Peter Som by Fashion Week staple, Maybelline — the brand who was backstage at more than 25 shows this season alone!
Campos' recreations ahead capture the essence of runway magic, yet they're totally apropos for anything dotting your itinerary — even your standing brunch date. Who knows, the street style paps might come a runnin'.
