Inside Our Senior Editor’s Very Small (But Very Chic!) East Village Studio

kristianop
You've already partied with Kristian in his East 11th Street apartment. While some of you considered our Senior Editor's studio a tad, uh, small for entertaining, he promises you're always welcome to stop by for a gimlet — but no more than three at a time, please. Now, Michael Mundy's blog, An Afternoon With..., is giving you a bigger (get it?) peek inside his jam-packed pad, complete with Samanatha Hahn's framed illustrations, Stubbs & Wootton and Del Toro slippers aplenty, and lots of red, white, and blue.
The site, which, profiles the digs of New Yorkers over the course, of, duh, an afternoon, has spotlighted the home personalities of everyone from a dog walker to a porn star, with some designers, artists, and poets thrown in there for good measure. With no assistant, styling, or retouching (to the chagrin of Kristian's wrinkled rug), iconic photographer Michael Mundy — who has shot for the likes of Vogue and W — aims to provide readers with descriptive narratives of his subjects that are equally unvarnished as they are revealing. Celebrating its second year, we recommend you click through and spend some time (or an afternoon) trolling through Mundy's site. And, if you're in the hood, holla at KL. He's always down for visitors, if you don't mind getting cozy. (An Afternoon With...)
