This Ex-Conde Nast Employee Is Now A Sobbing Bachelor Contestant

Confession: Some of us around here may have been tuning in to see overdramatized rose ceremonies and weepy limo rides since the start of
The Bachelor
(and The Bachelorette) series, which has been around for a whopping 16 seasons. Not that we're counting.

Sure, the post-finale-breakup news gets old, but the drama really doesn't. Last night was no exception, and we were hyped to spot a fellow New Yorker vying for the affection of Ben Flajnik — a boy-next-door type, Sonoma winemaker who happens to be really cute, has hair that screams "tousle me," and oh, did we mention the access to unlimited vino? One contestant sure would like some of that. That would be Jenna Burke, NYC blogger, who started things off on an awkward note when she misquoted Ben from a past season upon her introduction.
Burke, a former Condé employee (with stints at both GQ and Lucky, on the ad/promotions side), was portrayed in the intro as a total Carrie Bradshaw — freelance relationship writer, petite girl in the big city, ombre hair... And don't get us wrong, we get how TV works, really. So we overlooked all of that. However, things got more awkward when Jenna had a (kinda-sorta) run-in with fellow contestant Monica (who was a bit passive aggressive and a bit more interested in the other ladies than in Ben). Sadly, our once-bubbly Bradshaw reincarnate was left sobbing in the bathroom moments before the momentous rose ceremony — watch it here, at minute 59. Fortunately for her (and probably for us as well) she did receive a rose from Flajnik (the last one no less), leaving us looking forward to more tears and half-baked confrontations next week. Oh, and did we mention that Jenna's blog is called The Over-Analyst?
