Prints are having more than a moment in fashion right now– they’re practically a force of nature. And the only thing better than pretty, well-executed prints, are finding them on stand-out pieces that we can actually wear. Spanish brand, La Casita de Wendy, has this creative artistry down to a science, as evidenced by their new spring ’12 lookbook. The stars of the collection are a sea of super-fun graphics: intricate, narrative illustrations that we would just as easily frame, as we would wear on a frilly dress. In one pattern is a series of fancy young ladies partaking in worthwhile hobbies (reading, sewing, painting), and another is a highly-detailed cross section of a vintage home interior, reminiscent of The Royal Tenenbaums. We also totally dig the cute lookbook’s swirling blur between frock and backdrop, with paint spills that appear in caught-in-tornado chaos. La Casita de Wendy proves that pushing the boundaries of wearable prints totally pays off.
