The Best Clothing To Keep You From Melting This Summer

In the dead of June, our ideal summer outfit might just be our birthday suit. Since we're not that type of gals (and we're sure the local police might not be too thrilled with that warm-weather strategy), we've turned to wardrobe stylist Chrissy Volk for the summer fabrics to wear when the weather turns to sweltering. Here are the best fabrics to keep you air-conditioned naturally!
—If you've got to wear jeans, Chrissy suggests denim that's made with a high-cotton content and low synthetic materials. A jean with either a 98% cotton-2% lycra, or 96 % cotton-4% lycra fabric are good combinations.

—For shirts, look for tops made from cotton. Pima and supima cotton are the softest and most breathable blends.
—When you know you're going to sweat up a storm, rayon-blend shirts will keep their shape, even if you decide to take a dip in them.
—When you need to dress up, Chrissy says, "Ditch the polyester blends and look for 100% silk. Another option could be a chiffon (which is made from either silk or nylon), which is also breatheable and light. Look for a lining in an acetate or nylon blend."
And there you go. Happy sweating!
