Unlike the crowd of Manhattan retail expats storming the streets of Brooklyn's myriad neighborhoods-on-the-verge, boutique owner Kerrilynn Pamer's East River crossing landed her in plush West Village digs she describes as "luxurious, but not overdone." Nearly double the size of its outer-borough predecessor, this incarnation of Castor & Pollux stocks a carefully-edited mix of well- and lesser-known designers, delving deeper into some collections than the previous space allowed. And while headlining labels like 3.1 Phillip Lim, Rodebjer, Acne, and See by Chloe are given prime real estate on the store's rolling racks, there's ample space for bits and baubles by local designers, as well as the first Castor and Pollux collection, set to debut for Spring 2008. |
