Nina Davuluri Shares Her Family Bread Halwa Recipe

STEP 1

Cut bread into 1-inch cubes and melt butter over medium heat.

STEP 2

Toast the bread in butter for 10-15 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

STEP 3

Add the milk, saffron, and sugar.

STEP 4

Sprinkle in ground cardamom if you have it.

STEP 5

Reduce heat to medium-low and stir for 15-20 minutes. Then add almonds.
