lucie stayed in shinjuku, which is a business and entertainment area in tokyo.

LUCIE'S FIRST ADVENTURE IN JAPAN WAS DOING AN AUTHENTIC TEA CEREMONY AT CHAZEN.

japanese tea ceremonies are held in a Chashitsu style room.

step 1

first the guest eats japanese sweets known as wagashi, which will enhance the flavors of the tea.

step 2

the tea master cleans all the tools and carefully prepares the matcha.

step 3

next, The guest holds the tea bowl with her left hand on the bottom and right hand on the bowl. She rotates the bowl twice before taking a sip.

step 4

the guest and host bow to each other once the ceremony is over. then lucie attempted to prepare a bowl of matcha for the tea master.

the matcha is mixed in a "w" motion and stirred in a circle at the very end.

then they bowed and thanked each other for sharing in the tea ceremony.

"to enjoy this in the country Where It's grown, in a ceremony that has been celebrated for hundreds of years, now that was pretty special."
