The popularity of the phrase "all that and a bag of chips" has come and gone with the gang from All That. Kristen Stewart, however, hasn't gotten that memo.
Granted, her definition of "a bag of chips" is less about the humble brag and more about being cheap and easily replaceable.
"As soon as you start thinking about your career as a trajectory — like, as if you’re going to miss out on some wave or momentum — then you’re never doing anything for yourself anyway," she told Elle's Lili Anolik for the glossy's massive September issue. "Then you’re truly, actually, specifically working for the public. You’re turning yourself into a bag of chips."
Stewart won't let that happen, though. Her cover story is all about starting over. She knows her what her public image is (thanks in part to a certain weed-related New York Post cover that she believes made her "aware" of fame), but she's not going to crack a smile just for anyone. "Now I feel like if I smiled for a paparazzi photo — not that I ever would — that’s exactly what people would be desecrating me for," she confessed.
So, yes, Kristen Stewart knows people are watching, but she's not going to bow to any outside pressure. She's running her own show now — grocery shopping in Chanel and all.
The full interview hits newsstands in select cities starting August 12 and nationwide on August 19.
