Last week, we had a day with Nicole Richie that we're apt to compare to a presidential one-on-one. Amid much secrecy, the fashion icon conducted some pre-press for her first collaboration with Macy's for fall '12, a limited-edition collection straight-forwardly entitled "Nicole Richie for Impulse Only at Macy's," available in September.
First we interviewed her at the Macy's executive offices, getting past security and several aides, through marble halls, and many layers of publicists. While our interview — due to an embargo — won't be out until late August, we will say that Richie is sweet as all get-out (not to mention the fact that she has some seriously flawless skin).

After fingering some of the duds on offer, we reunited with the former reality star at an intimate dinner at Daniel, where we spotted Richie in one of her own designs, a sheer, floaty button-up with billowing sleeves and embellished shoulders and collar.
While we don't have images of the rest of the range, think Richie's usual vibe — '70s-inspired silhouettes and prints that have the bohemian-with-money thing on lock. With prices between $49 and $149, the offerings are fast enough for Us Weekly fans but still luxe enough for Vogue readers to mix in with their high-end staples. Speaking of presidential, cue more bodyguards...because we think Michelle Obama might be into these duds...
