UPDATE: Here's a cleaner, clearer image of the new packaging. Are you convinced, or will you always be nostalgic for the original?
This is what happens when a hallowed house undergoes a rebranding: We wait anxiously, hyper-critical of any rumors and hoping to catch a glimpse of what will be a "new" classic. Today, an image of the freshly revamped "Saint Laurent" logo was found on Twitter — the first appearance since new creative director Hedi Slimane announced that "Yves" was being dropped from the iconic "YSL" name — part of the legendary label's Soho makeover (it has since been covered up).
YSL purists, don't worry: The brand is still officially Yves Saint Laurent, and the title change only will apply to ready-to-wear. The new look is decidedly Slimane and reminiscent of those stark, dramatic looks he sent down the runway back in his Dior Homme days. While the font is straightforwardly sans serif, it almost looks too modern for the feminine brand. Let us know what you think of the change below! (Telegraph)
