And a little somber news to start the weekend (don't worry, there's an upside, too!). After eight years of business on the Mission's 16th Street strip, indie emporium Candystore Collective is closing up shop. Luckily, however, the shuttering of the brick-and-mortar locale on Monday, November 12 isn't the last folks will hear from the company. Owner Jennifer Jones tells us that the business will maintain a steady e-commerce presence, and folks can expect Candystore pop-up shops appearing across the country in 2013, with the first stop in Portland.
Another ray of sunshine in this otherwise dreary news: There's a huge blowout closing sale starting today, Friday, October 12. Everything in the shop — jewelry and vintage included — will be discounted, with some pieces up to 75% off. C'mon, there's no better way to say goodbye than with a parting gift ... to yourself ... eh?
