The week prior to the Oscars is so full of buzz that it's hard to pay attention to anything else in Hollywood — a shame, undoubtedly, because there are still lots of important award shows going on, with great red carpets to match. So today, in your last few hours before one of the biggest TV events of the year, take a moment to appreciate Kerry Washington at the 2013 Independent Spirit Awards.
She's already a major player on best-dressed lists because of her edgy, fashion-forward style, but this look is both unusual and particularly beautiful. You don't see much in the way of patterns and prints on the red carpet, but Washington's Giambattista Valli couture dress and Louboutin shoes made head-to-toe floral a thoroughly glamorous experience. She's like a walking garden, if gardens could churn out heart-wrenching performances like it's nobody's business.
This just has us all the more excited to see what she's wearing tonight — and, of course, to find out if our prediction comes true. While some of you noted that our best guess for her Oscars gown was a little too aggressive for her, we're thinking she might be in the mood for something a little more vampy after this innocent number.
