"I have far too many shoes," says J.Crew creative director Jenna Lyons in the latest episode of
J.Crew on Film. Umm, yeah? Clocking in at 289 pairs, her collection would make Imelda Marcos jealous — but, hey — it's not like we wouldn't hate on having a closet (or room) full of gorgeous kicks.
In the short vid, entitled "Shiny Ponies" (Lyons' name for beautiful shoes, as opposed to clunkers, which she terms "Ugly Dollies"), the CD talks about the transformative power of your heel game: "Shoes are like fairies — like that sort of little magical piece that finishes everything...I can throw on a silver, five-inch heel pump, and all of a sudden, I feel a little bit prettier."

With clips of the Italian factory where J.Crew manufactures its shoes to a glimpse into Lyons' creative process, the mini-flick helps promote the company's high-craftsmanship message ("Designed in New York. Made In Italy.), while hoping Jenna's abundance of oxfords, stilettos, and sneaks will convince you to up your own shoe ante. Guess it worked — we're skipping Bare Burger for lunch and ordering some Shiny Ponies instead.
