Because when we think about an art/costume show entitled Punk: From Chaos To Couture and all of its influencers, we immediately think Kanye West, who is rumored to perform at this year's gala. Wait, what?
To be fair, the performers who have graced the stage in the past rarely have anything to do with the evening's theme (i.e. Azealia Banks and this year's Gala chair Beyoncé), so Kanye's appearance wouldn't be that strange. Secondly, Gala co-chair and Givenchy-designer Riccardo Tisci has been having quite the love affair with Yeezy (see: the much-covered kilt affair).
However, if 'Ye is indeed performing at the Gala, it means he gets to bring a date...which goes directly against an Anna Wintour-imposed sanction against a certain person who has a lot of "K"s in her name. Stay tuned...(The Cut)
