Topshop’s Interactive Music Fest, Starring Kate Bosworth, Is Finally Here

The wait is over. The Topshop Festival is here! We reported in April that plans were afoot for Kate Bosworth to design a collection for the high-street retailer based on her own festival wardrobe. But there is so much more to this shindig than tie-dye t-shirts and mirrored sunglasses. The brand will be hosting secret pop-up gigs from some of the coolest underground acts and established stars alike — and the only way to get your mitts on tickets is through online competitions and random ticket allocation.
As for Bosworth’s much anticipated 16-piece collection, every piece is a winner. As Topshop’s creative director, Kate Phelan explains, “Kate and I were discussing the summer trends and how she had been one of our inspirations when she was here working with us on our Christmas project — the next day Kate came in with all these incredible images and references and shared what her ultimate festival outfits looked like. It is an organic extension of Kate’s fashion sense aligned with the Topshop brand. We think that’s fresh and exciting.”
To celebrate the collaboration, the actress and her fiancé Michael Polish shot a film called “The road to Coachella,” in which Bosworth models items from the collection. The soundtrack (much like the playlists in Topshop stores) is available to buy on iTunes and on Shazam, while the clothes in the film are shoppable, clickable, and shareable. Fancy.
