With the wealth of celebrity- and semi-disturbing Kickstarter campaigns out there, it can be difficult to decide what's worth supporting. But one look at the campaign for
Popular Noise
magazine, and we're completely down.
A quarterly lifestyle magazine for the music community featuring the best in art, fashion, and pop culture, Popular Noise promises to fill a gap in the world of media. Former art director for V Magazine and founder Byron Kalet describes the publication as "a magazine about life and style; places, people, and moments. All the things that go into a life worth making music about, and an exploration of how one gets from here (life) to there (music)." How cool is that?
The team behind Popular Noise is hoping to raise enough money for the first edition, which will be their New York/Art Issue. Kalet's brainchild promises a strong focus on the NY music community, featuring Tim Presley (White Fence), Heather D'Angelo (Au Revoir Simone), Liz Wendelbo (Xeno & Oaklander), Busy Ganges (Telepathe), and Dana Wachs (Vorhees). Check out their Kickstarter to donate, or just start spreading the word about this forthcoming, totally rad mag.
